Social Cognitive Theory

This theory says that with the reinforcers, people make expectations, which can be good or also bad. E.g. when you study rely hard for an exam, and you obtain a good grade, you are sure that for the next time will happen the same. Or when you make a homework of too many pages and you didn't sleep because you were finishing it, and the grade you receive is not the one you expected, you start to not taking care of that subject.
Also this theory says that by Modeling, which is copying the behavior of other someone learn. Everyday examples would be to write, or to talk, or learn to make a mathematical problem. You start to make what you see.

Behaviorism

In this theme we learned about Pavlov's experiment with a dog. with this he studied the dog's unconditioned stimulus (without any training), which was the meat power and it began to salivate which is the unconditioned response. The dog made a classical conditioning that is when you are taught or trained with a neutral stimulus and a unconditioned stimulus to have a unconditioned response. With this "routine" you obtain a conditioned response. you have 3 stages: stimulus, response and reinforcement.
But what's a reinforcement?
A reinforcement could be positive or negative. The positive may help the person to increase the likelihood for that behavior and it will became a habit. they are pleasant consequences because of you behavior. Reinforcement is vital for the learning process. Some examples: good grades, recognition, privileges, certificates, thumb-up sign, etc.
Negative reinforcers weaken behavior and they are called punishers. Some examples: time ot, removal or presentation punishment.

Also skinner said language is a form of behavior determined by stimulus, control and reinforcement;that there are 3 processes in learning a language: receiving the knowledge, fixing it in the memory by repetition, and practicing.

Today we made a VARK questionnaire and my result was I am visual and kinesthetic. As we have seen during classes, not all the children learn in the same way. Others may perceive, solve and think different from others. this are the Cognitive Styles. Teachers are very important because as they motivate their students, these became involved in learning, using their habilities, attitudes and habits. For some stuents is easily to study in groups, but there are someones (like me) that prefers to study alone. Others can lear just by hearing the class, but there are others that if there are no slides or images they can´t learn. Because of that is important that teachers should make they learning more attractive depending of the learning styles their students have.

Another summary of teachers

We presented about piaget's cognitive development. We learned about the different stages a child passes through and also we learned that they learn with experiences. Their thinking process changes to a logical and more abstract one. In other class we also read about the socialculrural theory of vygotsky, which is the opposite of piaget's. Also we learned about motivation, which is what makes you do or not do something. Teachers should motivate their students all the time by telling them good work or well done, teachers are a very important part of the children development at school.

Developmentally appropriate instruction

Ok. On Monday it's our exam, so i hope everyone go fine!!!
Teacher 's class is a lot of information, basically we learn how to teach and use different sources for the learners could understand better. We should remember that children learn in different ways, a few learn by hearing and others are more visual, so teachers have to bear in mind that children are not the same. Children are curious and enjoy knowledge, also they try to define themselves as individuals in a society. At an earlier age, they learn about their surroundings, but also teachers must keep in mind that little children tire easily. Always teachers should give specific directions and build routines. People is made to live in society.

English around the world...

During this classes, we have been talking about how English has changed through time, its origins and transformations, about ENGLISH AROUND THE WORLD. english develops from migrations, cause it is a combination of dialects. All started with de Puritans and with the Native Americans, because this relation they made, they started to know more words for animals, they made feedback about their costumes and traditions. Also Irish, French, Spanish, German and Dutch people have influenced in English. In the African Coast sailors and slaves started to communicate, the black population and the new landowners made Creoles.

LINGUISTIC DEVELOPMENT DURING THE SCHOOL YEARS...

As I read the fragment, I understood that since we are very young our brain start to make a complete process by obtaining information and analyzing it. People develop different skills and for develop these, we need to communicate with others. Our vocabulary increases, we start to know definitions, identify things by hearing and looking to objects. Children organize their ideas and try to have a natural conversation, hear what the others tell them and they are capable of comprehend.
Children learn a new language by practicing, but also by making the learning more interactive like with games, goals, making it not so tedious, more active. Parents should take advantage of children when they are little to speak in other languages, because between 3 and 10 years is easier for them to assimilate information.
